Hawaii Pickup Truck Safety - Back of Pickup Truck
It is law for all passengers in cars and pickup trucks to wear a seat
In Hawaii you will be fined for riding in the back of a passenger car without a
seatbelt, however you can ride in the bed of a pickup truck with no safety equipment.
The current state law says, kids 12 and under cannot ride in the back of a pickup truck. Everyone else can if all
the seats in the cab are occupied. The truck has to have side racks and a working tailgate is securely closed.
